PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive grater which reduces a load by grating only by linear reciprocating movement, increasing the grating speed, and grating both in rough and fine textures for multi-purposed production, and has a simple structure, and is inexpensively manufacturable. SOLUTION: Laterally protruding flat blades (4) are provided at the center of a hole (5) for dropping a grated material on the surface of a grater body, and isolated triangular protruding blades (6) are laterally formed on both side faces of the hole in the longitudinal direction. Thus, flaws made by the triangular protruding blade are shaved by the flat blade, and this movement is repeated for grating by the linear reciprocating movement. In addition, an elongate protrusion (3) in such a shape that the triangular protruding blade is extended for guiding the grating by the linear reciprocating motion is provided.
