The motor vehicle internal combustion engine has part of the casings made of a cast iron material, at least partially of an austenitic ferrous cast iron (ADI). The engine can have cylinder liners made of ADI in a cast aluminium cylinder block. The cylinder liners can have a reduced thickness. The liner can be made of ADI with the designation EN-GJS- 800-8.
