A garbage disposal equipment that minimizes consumption of electric power for driving the equipment, prevents danger of a fire caused by overheating, decomposes garbage under optimal conditions to minimize garbage disposal cost, automatically disposes garbage, and accurately measures an amount of garbage injected into the equipment, and a method for disposing garbage using the same are provided. A garbage disposal equipment comprises: a chamber having an opening installed on an upper portion thereof such that a door is installed on the opening, at least one agitator installed therein and rotated by a motor, and a screen installed on the bottom thereof to naturally drain water; temperature and humidity control part installed in the chamber to maintain predetermined temperature and humidity within the chamber; garbage amount sensing part for sensing an injection amount of garbage injected into an inner center of the door for opening or closing the opening; garbage injection sensing part for sensing injection of garbage by opening of the door and garbage injected into the chamber; and a control part(500) having an operating part(510) comprising a plurality of switches, and a display part(530) comprising an LCD screen and the like to display the operating conditions of the operating part to control the respective composing units. |
