A portable audio player having tone and effector functions of an electric guitar is provided to properly use a function commonly usable in a digital audio signal processing procedure as a device which combines a portable MP3 player with an effect module of the electric guitar, thereby realizing an effect box role of the electric guitar. A pickup impedance matching unit(110) impedance-matches signals generated from a pickup of an electric guitar. A microphone impedance matching unit(120) impedance-matches audio signals generated from a microphone. A DSP(Digital Signal Processor)(140) conducts audio decoding and recording processes for the respective signals inputted from the microphone impedance matching unit(120) according to an audio reproduction/recording and electric guitar effect mode, and combines or selects the signals inputted from the pickup impedance matching unit(110) by an effect filter module of the electric guitar, and then generates effect of the guitar. A headphone amplifier(170) amplifies the signals which are decoding-processed or effect-processed in the DSP(140) at predetermined levels for a headphone.
