<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer fuel cell with reduced contact resistance between a gas diffusion layer and a catalyst layer, not hindering supply of reaction gas to the catalyst layer, with improved draining property of water generated at electrode reaction, and a manufacturing method of the same. <P>SOLUTION: Intermediate layers 5a, 5b are arranged between gas diffusion layers 6a, 6b and catalyst layers 3, 4. The intermediate layers 5a, 5b, mainly composed of electron conductive filler and binder, have cavities continued in thickness direction therein. The ratio of solid part of the intermediate layer 5a, 5b is not less than 3% and not more than 30%, and percentage of the cavity having a diameter of not smaller than 1 μm and not larger than 30 μm is not less than 50% to the total volume of the intermediate layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
