<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To demodulate a plurality of modulated signals transmitted from a plurality of antennas with excellent error rate property within comparatively small circuit scale. <P>SOLUTION: When demodulating bits in a part of a 64QAM modulated signal, in accordance with the area on an IQ plane where a point of the relevant reception signal exists, a partial bit determination unit 509, 512 changes which bits in a bit string of 6 bits constituting one symbol are to be demodulated as partial bits. Thus, since error property of partial bits to be determined in the partial bit determination unit 509, 512 is improved, the reliability of reduced candidate signal points to be used in a likelihood detection unit 518 is improved.
