<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an external multi-functioned machine in the same way as a multi-functioned machine usually used, even when the external composite machine is used. <P>SOLUTION: If a remote function is selected, and an IP address of a multi-functioned machine 16 is input, while a multi-functioned machine 18 is connected to the multi-functioned machine 16, it acquires environmental information of the multi-functioned machine such as registration information of a confidential box, a destination table of e-mails, a destination table of client PCs, etc. which are held by the multi-functioned machine 16 (step 100 to 122).
