COMBINATION OF SLIDING MEMBER AND LUBRICATING OIL, AND SLIDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combination of a sliding member and lubricating oil where, even in the case the surface of a film composed of an amorphous carbon material is rough in the initial stage, the reduction of wear and the reduction of friction are possible by reducing the surface roughness and approaching the lubrication from the boundary one to the fluid one in the initial stage of sliding.

SOLUTION: The sliding member comprises: a first sliding member in which a film composed of an amorphous carbon material is formed on the sliding face; a second sliding member in which the sliding face slid with the sliding face in the first sliding member has surface hardness of ≥400 Hv; and lubricating oil comprising 0.2 to 2 wt.% carbon soot in the sliding faces between the first sliding member and the second sliding member.
