PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording system, imaging apparatus, recording apparatus, reproducing system, recording method and reproducing method in which a desired scene can be easily retrieved from photographed scenes. SOLUTION: A video camera 1 comprises a nonvolatile memory 28 for storing identification information of a reloadable cassette tape 25 and recording position information containing starting and ending positions of photographed data recorded on the cassette tape 25 and a central processing microcomputer 33 for controlling accumulation of the photographed data recorded on the cassette tape 25 into a cradle 7. The central processing microcomputer 33 transfers the photographed data to the cradle 7 by detecting connection with the cradle 7 and accumulates the recording position information on a USB connection HDD 34 together with the photographed data.
