PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting switch hardly effected by moisture and dust, capable of securing a long service life and a long term reliability. SOLUTION: The switch has a detection coil 1, an LC resonator constituted by the detecting coil 1 and a resonance capacitor, an oscillation circuit to drive the LC resonator, a lever member 4 to transmit the displacement of the object to be detected, a first coil spring 5 fixed to the lever member 4, relatively displacing against the detection coil 1, making circular eddy current flow, and a second spring 6 having a spring constant larger than that of the first coil spring practicing over travel. The first coil spring 5 and the second spring energize the lever member 4, and extends and contracts along axial center of the detection coil 1. A loop is formed on the first coil spring 5 and circular eddy current is made to flow therethrough, and the object to be detected is detected by oscillating and stopping the LC resonator.
