TIG WELDING OR BRAZE WELDING WITH METAL TRANSFER VIA LIQUID BRIDGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TIG welding method which brings about excellent welding quality and high welding speed. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a arc welding method useing a TIG torch equipped with a non-consumable electrode 4 and a consumable filler wire 1. An end of the consumable filler wire 1 is melted in order by an electric arc 5 generated between the non-consumable electrode 4 and at least one workpiece 8 to be welded so that molten metal 3 is transferred from the filler wire 1 to the workpiece 8 and a welded joint 6 is formed. The filler wire 1 is fed at an angleαless than 50°to the axis of the electrode 4. The molten metal is transferred to the welded joint 6 via the liquid bridge 3 such that constant contact exists between a molten metal paddle 2 for forming the welded joint 6 and the molten end of the filler wire 1.
