PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus allowing an operator to easily determine the correcting direction of a puncture needle when puncturing the puncture needle in an object site by referring to an image including the object site. SOLUTION: This medical image diagnostic apparatus for use in puncturing the puncture needle in the object site inside a subject is characterized in having a second image display means 17 near the puncture needle as well as a first image display means 14 of an apparatus body, displaying a sectional image perpendicular to the puncture direction of the puncture needle and including the object site in the second image display means, and indicating the relative positional relation between the object site and the puncture needle.
