The invention relates to a heat engine (10) comprising at least one engine block which rotatably receives a crankshaft (12) and a cartridge (16) which is fixed to the engine block and which rotatably receives a pair of parallel balance shafts, namely a primary shaft (26) and a secondary shaft (28), which are rotated by the crankshaft (12). The invention also comprises a ring gear (34) which is rotationally connected to the crankshaft (12), permanently meshing with a first pinion (36) borne by one end (38) of the primary balance shaft (26). In addition, a second pinion (40), borne by the end (38) of the primary balance shaft (26), meshes with a pinion (42) borne by one end of the secondary balance shaft (28). The invention is characterised in that transverse holes (46, 48) extend through the ends (38, 44) of the primary (26) and secondary (28) balance shafts and are intended to be aligned with one another, before the cartridge (16) is mounted to the engine block, in order to receive a pin (50). |
