RDS DATA SECURING APPARATUS AND METHOD

A device and a method for securing RDS(Remote Diagnostic System) data are provided to prevent data collected in an RDS from being transferred to a server without permission and allow an authorized user to transfer the data to the server by reading/writing the RDS data and displaying a result depending on an RDS command and previously stored security setting received from a host. An interface(100) receives the RDS command from the host. A storing part(110) stores security setting for the RDS data. A controller(120) performs an RDS process task depending on the RDS command and the security setting. A display part(130) displays a performance result. The controller stores the performance result to the storing part, and determines whether the performance result stored in the storing part is transferred to the server depending on the command and the security setting inputted from a user viewing the performance result displayed to the display part. The display part is installed to an RDS data security device or is connected to the outside of the device through the network.
