<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine capable of performing the lean operation and the NOx purge under an optimum environment by adequately setting a control parameter on the NOx storage in a NOx catalyst during the lean operation, or a control parameter on the NOx discharge and reduction from the NOx catalyst during the NOx purge. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device sets the control parameter corresponding to the reference bed temperature and the correction value for correcting the control parameter to the optimum control parameter at each bed temperature Tbed in advance, corrects the control parameter of the reference bed temperature by the correction value according to the actual bed temperature Tbed, calculates the optimum control parameter corresponding to the actual bed temperature Tbed (S16, 18), and applies the calculated control parameter to the control of the lean operation and the NOx purge (S14). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
