PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel in which sedimentation of alignment layer shavings on a region adjacent to an alignment mark is prevented in rubbing treatment of the alignment layer, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The alignment mark 31 is arranged on a surface of a transparent substrate 21 in a color filter substrate 3. Also an L shaped bank pattern 32 of which the height is higher than that of the alignment mark 31 is arranged on a position separated toward the upstream side of a rubbing direction 100 when seen from the alignment mark 31. The bank pattern 32 is formed by stacking a lower layer 32BM and an upper layer 32B. The alignment mark 31 and the lower layer 32BM of the bank pattern 32 are formed with the same material and in the same step as those of a black matrix. Also the upper layer 32B of the bank pattern 32 is formed with the same material and in the same step as those of a blue color filter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
