PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire for removing an intravascular foreign matter and a medical instrument capable of surely catching and removing the intravascular foreign matter. SOLUTION: This wire 1 for removing the intravascular foreign matter is provided with a long-length wire body 2 having flexibility, and a catching section 3 provided at the distal end side of the wire body 2 and having a foreign matter catching space 31 for catching the intravascular foreign matter. The catching section 3 of this wire 1 for removing the intravascular foreign body is provided with two branched wire parts 4a and 4b branched from the distal end of the wire body 2, three first filament parts 5a, 5b and 5c laid between the branched wire parts 4a and 4b, second filament parts 7a and 7b branched from the middle of the first filament part 5b, and second filament parts 7c and 7d branched form the middle of the first filament part 5c.
