<p>The buckles in particular for the seat belts of the rear seats are joined with ropes to the car floor which have to be slightly diverted in most cases because a space suitable for the fixing device is not available directly beside the seat. The rope is guided around a groove (22) located at the curved upper rim of a flat element (18) accommodated inside the buckle and through four ring-shaped lateral extensions (28). Two openings (30) facilitate the joining of the element (18) to the rope fixing device with rivets.
