摘要 Provided are an ammonium removal material that removes ammonium salts from water at room temperature in a simple manner by preparing a fine zeolite in such a form that the zeolite is separated from water, and can substantially reduce treatment cost of wastewater or process water due to ammonium salts by allowing the used zeolite to be reused in a simple manner after using the zeolite, and methods for preparing and using the same. An adsorbent for removal of ammonium ions from water comprises a zeolite bonded with a magnetic substance. The zeolite and the magnetic substance have a particle size of 100 microns or less. The zeolite and the magnetic substance are mixed with each other at a mixing ratio of 1:1 to 10:1. The magnetic substance is magnetite or iron oxide. A preparation method of a zeolite bonded magnetic adsorbent comprises the steps of: applying a solvent, a binding agent and a dispersing agent to a mixture of a zeolite and a magnetic substance to mix the solvent, the binding agent and the dispersing agent with the mixture of the zeolite and the magnetic substance; and drying the mixture, and milling the dried mixture to a particle size of 100 microns or less. A method for removing ammonium ions from water comprises the steps of: mixing a zeolite bonded magnetic adsorbent with water contaminated with ammonium ions to bond the ammonium ions with the zeolite bonded magnetic adsorbent; and separating the zeolite bonded magnetic adsorbent from water using magnetic force.
