A wireless communication terminal having a power off function in accordance with an altitude and a method thereof are provided to prevent an electronic device from being wrongly operated due to an electronic wave. A wireless communication terminal having a power off function in accordance with an altitude comprises a storage unit(120), an atmospheric pressure measuring unit(190), an altitude calculator(185), and a controller(110). The storage unit(120) stores previously a reference atmospheric pressure. The atmospheric pressure measuring unit(190) measures a current atmospheric pressure. The altitude calculator(185) calculates the current altitude by referring to the stored reference atmospheric pressure and the currently measured atmospheric pressure. The controller(110) turns off power of the wireless communication terminal if the calculated altitude is over a reference.
