A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent a horizontal stripe from being observed by naked eyes, when some pixels are undercharged due to a data delay, by spatially arranging compensated image data next to a row to which black image data is finally applied. A liquid crystal display device includes plural gate lines(G1~Gn), plural data lines(D1~Dm), and plural pixels(PX). The gate lines deliver gate-on voltages. The data lines are formed to cross the gate lines. The data lines deliver regular image data, black image data, and compensated image data. The pixels are arranged along rows and columns and connected to the gate and data lines. The black image data is successively applied on more than two pixel rows within one frame. The compensated image data is applied on next two rows to a row, to which the black image data is finally applied.
