EXTRACT DERIVED FROM AJUGA REPTANS CELL LINES AND ITS PREPARATION AND USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which prepares an extract from ajuga reptans cells and can acquire an industrial amount of phenylpropanoid; a total extract or a single substance acquired from plant cell lines by the above-mentioned method; and the use of the total extract or the single substance for medicines, cosmetics, or nourishment for humans or animals and domestic animals.

SOLUTION: The extract derived from ajuga reptans cell lines is selected and stabilized and contains phenylpropanoid having antioxidant ability and comprising 20-90% teupolioside titer and 80-10% fraction not containing a chromophore. Such an extract is used for the purpose of treatment, nourishment, and makeup of humans and domestic animals. The novel phenylpropanoid molecule is called as isoteupolioside.
