<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating agent and a method of tail gas efficiently treating tail gas using magnesium hydroxide and/or magnesium oxide, and a tail gas treating method. <P>SOLUTION: This treating agent of tail gas consists of a slurry containing an acidic component removal agent removing magnesium from the tail gas by reacting with an acidic component in the tail gas, and a dispersant dispersing the acidic component removal agent into water. The acidic component removal agent is magnesium hydroxide and/or magnesium oxide.
