<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a delay device having an analog delay line adaptable to a plurality of frequencies with a small tap number, and an ultrasonic diagnostic device equipped with such a delay device. <P>SOLUTION: The analog delay line (618) has a maximum delay amount (for example, 250 nS) corresponding to more than 3/8 wavelength and less than one wavelength of a predetermined maximum wavelength of an input signal. A tap spacing (for example, 50 nS) to a delay point (for example, 100 nS) corresponding to 1/2 of a predetermined minimum wavelength of the input signal differs from the tap spacing (for example, 25 nS) beyond it.
