<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intelligent key system for a vehicle, which can positively prevent steal of an IC card even if the driver leaves the vehicle with the IC card inserted in an on-vehicle device for ETC. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic key system 10 for a vehicle carries out radio-communication between an intelligent key 20 carried with the driver and an intelligent key unit 13 mounted on the vehicle to collate their ID codes with each other, and locks/unlocks a vehicle door, based on a result of the collation. Further the electronic key system recognizes the location of the intelligent key 20 inside/outside the vehicle via the radio communication. The electronic key system has an ETC unit in which the IC card 14 is removably insertable, and if it recognizes that the intelligent key 20 is located outside the vehicle and at the same time the door is not locked by the intelligent key 20, on condition that the IC card 14 is inserted into the ETC unit 11, the door is automatically locked by a BCM 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
