<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image signal processor which can compress all inputted images with a high image quality at a high frame rate and whose scale and cost are reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The image signal processor includes N pieces of means 101 for inputting N pieces of images respectively, M pieces of means 201 each of which selects one image signal from N pieces of image signals, a means 303 for image compression of image signals from L1 selection means, a means 304 for image compression of image signals from L2 selection means, a means 306 for setting an image side or a frame rate of each image signal, and a means 307 for controlling selection means and image compression means in accordance with setting from the means 306.
