<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high-speed transfer of large volumes of data between a device provided with a card reading/writing function and an information terminal connected to an IC card through a wire. <P>SOLUTION: The information processing terminal defines a data transfer state where noncontact data communication through the IC card is permitted and a data non-transfer state where the noncontact data communication is not permitted, and the IC card manages the communicating state of the information processing terminal. Since the IC card can perform data transfer to the terminal side according to the data transfer state or the data non-transfer state regardless of announcement from the information processing terminal, synchronization is facilitated, and the transfer speed can be enhanced.
