PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a herbicide comprising a mixture that sufficiently controls all kinds of weeds and is highly safe to a paddy rice plant. SOLUTION: The herbicide composition comprises a compound represented by formula (I) (wherein, for example, R1 is Cl; R2 is H; R3 is C<SB>3</SB>H<SB>7</SB>; and X and Y are each CH<SB>3</SB>O) or a salt thereof and a benzoylcyclohexanedione derivative such as mesotrione or sulcotrione.
