PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly prevent double feeding, and to smoothly sending a recording sheet sucked to a carrying belt to a carrying belt, in a sheet feeder sucking the recording sheets stacked in a sheet tray one by one to the endless carrying belt by sucking, and successively sending out that. SOLUTION: The endless carrying belt 2 having a large number of air permeable holes is supported above the sheet tray 1 so as to circulate. Suction is carried out from a duct 31 provided on a back surface side of the carrying belt through the air permeable holes, and the recording sheets are sucked on the carrying belt and carried by circulating driving of the carrying belt. A corrugator 5 pressing out the sucked recording sheet to a lower side of a recording sheet sucking surface of the carrying belt is provided to be adjacent the carrying belt. In the corrugator, a part abutting on the recording sheet moves forward/backward between a position projecting out to the lower side of the recording sheet sucking surface of the carrying belt and a position retracting to an upper side of the recording sheet sucking surface.
