PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a can lid which can provide a good carrying property. SOLUTION: This can lid 10 is equipped with a center panel section 11, a chuck wall section 12, and a seaming panel section 13. The upper surface of the center panel section 11 has an opening section which is partitioned by a rivet and a score. The can lid 10 is also equipped with a tab which is fixed to the rivet in such a manner that one end section side may be overlapped with the top of the opening section. The center panel section 11 and the chuck wall section 12 are connected through an annular protruding section 20 which is raised from the outer peripheral edge of the center panel section 11 to the inner side in the diametrical direction. A distance A in the axial direction of the can lid 10 between the lower surface of the center panel section 11 and the terminal end 13b of the seaming panel section 13 is made larger than a distance B in the axial direction between approximately the same section as the outer diameter of the center panel section 11 on the internal side of the chuck wall section 12, and the upper end in the axial direction of the seaming panel section 13.
