A metallocene compound of formula (I) wherein M is zirconium titanium or hafiiium; X is hydrogen, halogen or an hydrocarbon group; R⁴, R⁵, R⁶, R⁷, R⁸, R⁹, R¹⁰, and R¹¹, R¹² and R¹³ are hydrogen atoms, or C₁-C₄₀ hydrocarbon radicals optionally containing heteroatoms belonging to groups 13-17 of the Periodic Table of the Elements; R¹ and R², equal to or different from each other, are linear or branched, C₁-C₂₀-alkyl radicals, and R³ is a C₁-C₄₀ hydrocarbon radical optionally containing heteroatoms belonging to groups 13-17 of the Periodic Table of the Elements;
