An electric device and a control method thereof are provided to effectively improve problems caused from communication with an unauthorized external device by using an RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification). A connector(32) is connected to the external device(40) having a unique ID. A determiner(38) determines whether the unique ID of the connected external device is an authorized ID or not. A microcomputer(35) makes the determiner determine the unique ID of the connected external device in case that the external device is connected to the connector. If the unique ID of the external device is determined as the authorized ID based on a determination result of the determiner, the microcomputer starts the communication with the external device. The unique ID includes the RFID(46) having unique ID information. The determiner includes a storing part(36) storing the preset authorized ID and an RF reader(37).
