<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf shaft capable of suppressing its deformation caused by compression as much as possible by enhancing a spring constant. <P>SOLUTION: The shaft 1 is provided with a tetra-axial textile layer at a position near its outer peripheral surface. For a diagonal axial fiber and a horizontal axial fiber constituting the tetra-axial textile layer, carbon fiber having a high modulus of elongation is used as reinforced fiber. The shaft 1 is also provided with a hoop layer inside of the tetra-axial textile layer.
