PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a spiral light-emitting tube having a swirled part swirled around a pivot as a center, not damaging a phosphor film to the best of ability, capable of making the thickness of the phosphor film on a transverse section of the swirled part at an inner peripheral side close to the pivot thicker, in comparison with the thickness at an outer peripheral side. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the light-emitting tube comprises a phosphor painting process painting phosphor on an inner face of a spiral glass tube 11 composed of swirled part 18 swirled around the pivot A as a center. At a preparatory drying process included in the phosphor painting process, the temperature at a side of the glass tube close to the pivot A is lowered by inserting cooling media 28 into inside of the swirled part 18 of the glass tube 11 on which suspension 26 for a phosphor film is painted, and the suspension is dried in a state that the viscosity of the suspension is higher at the side close to the pivot than that at the side distant from the pivot.
