PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize storage capacity for widening a reversely traceable area in a program debug system having a reverse trace function. SOLUTION: An executable object is stored at every predetermined simulation time. In receipt of a reverse trace command, a copied object is determined as the executable object, and using an instruction before the current instruction as a breakpoint, simulation is restarted from the point of copying. Alternatively, the executable objects are stored individually at predetermined intervals from simulation starting time, and in receipt of the reverse trace command, it is determined whether simulation is restarted again or not while using any one of the copied executable objects, so that reverse tracing can be carried out freely from the breakpoint to the simulation starting point.
