PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition for obtaining rubber products with high mechanical strength and excellent dynamic mechanical properties, and to provide a simple method for producing the rubber composition. SOLUTION: The rubber composition is obtained by coagulating a compounded latex with an acid or salt. By the way, the compounded latex comprises a latex of (A) a rubber having in the molecule at least one functional group selected from pyridyl, carboxy, amino, carbamoyl and epoxy groups, a second latex of (B) a rubber differing in kind from the rubber A and being such that, when its latex is coagulated with an acid or salt in the presence of water-glass, a rubber capable of being subjected to mastication is produced, and water-glass.
