A color filter manufacturing method is provided to increase pattern precision of an organic black matrix by directly forming the organic black matrix by a photo mask. A color filter manufacturing method includes steps of: forming an organic black photoresist layer(304) on a transparent substrate(300); exposing the organic black photoresist layer to the light by using a photo mask; forming the organic black photoresist layer to make an organic black matrix on the transparent substrate; covering the organic black matrix with a positive photoresist layer by forming the positive photoresist layer on the transparent substrate; irradiating ultraviolet rays on the surface of the transparent substrate, which faces and is spaced apart from the positive photoresist layer to expose the positive photoresist layer to the light; forming the positive photoresist layer to form plural banks on the organic black matrix; and injecting the ink into a space defined by the banks and the organic black matrix by using an inkjet device.
