A coherently averaging method for measuring a traveling wave tube amplifier nonlinearity is provided to minimize a required power for both level signals, and support to monitor TWTA(Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier) by accurately extracting a low level signal. A coherently averaging method for measuring a traveling wave tube amplifier nonlinearity includes the steps of: receiving a signal(1328); demodulating the signal(1330); generating an ideal signal from the demodulated signal(1332); coherently averaging the received signal to reduce noise(1334); and estimating a performance characteristic by measuring a difference of the ideal signal and the coherently averaged received signal(1336).
