A slide type mobile communication terminal is provided to enable a user to easily perform an opening or closing operation via a simple button operation and also reduce a noise which can be generated when the terminal is opened or closed. A slide type mobile communication terminal comprises a main body(100), a slide unit(200), a slide module, and a control unit. The slide unit(200) is slidably prepared with respect to the main body(100). The slide module includes a slide recess and a slide panel. The slide recess has a recessed portion with a certain length on either one contact surface between the main body(100) and the slide unit(200). The slide panel is prepared on the other contact surface and is slidably prepared at the slide recess. The control unit restricts or releases a slide operation of the slide unit(200) such that the slide unit(200) performs selectively the slide operation with respect to the main body(100).
