A method for preventing a key input process error is provided to restrict a key input operation of a jog dial in a turn-on state of a jog enter or stick key, and restrict an input operation of the jog enter/stick key until a zoom-in/out operation is completed for a navigation function in a telematics terminal. A JSF(Jog Stick Flag) and a JEF(Jog Enter Flag) are defined in the turn-on state of the jog enter/stick key(S210). A setting state of flags is checked when the jog enter or stick key is operated(S214). In case that the jog enter/stick key is inputted at the same time, input of the jog dial is restricted. The operation of the jog dial is restricted while a short or long operation of the jog enter key is advanced in the turn-on state of the jog enter key. A jog dial operation message inputted within 20 milliseconds is ignored by calculating a time difference between the operations based on a clock of an interrupt generated when the jog dial is operated.
