DISPLAY DEVICE, CONTROLLER DRIVER AND DRIVING METHOD FOR DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology to enable switching of a correction curve of corrected gray-scale data according to a change of surrounding environment of a display device in a short period of time while a circuit scale is made smaller.

SOLUTION: The display device (1) includes a display panel (2), an environmental sensor (6), a correction circuit (13) to generate corrected gray-scale data (Dγ) by correcting input gray-scale data (DIN) and a drive circuit (16) for driving the display panel (2) in response to the corrected gray-scale data (Dγ). The correction circuit (13) is constituted to generate the corrected gray-scale data (Dγ) by executing a correction using a polynomial in which the input gray-scale data (DIN) are used as variables. Coefficients of the polynomial are changed in response to an output signal of the environmental sensor (6).
