<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device usable for a long period and superior in durability even when repetitive pressure works on both side faces of a seal ring having grooves in both side faces. <P>SOLUTION: An X-ring 3 is so provided that the sum (a+b) of interferences with a sliding ring 2 and a groove bottom 14a of an annular groove 14 is not less than a radial groove width c of each of grooves 3f, 3g.
