摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive controlling apparatus for an endless belt capable of stably carrying out a good feedback control even in the case a carrying velocity fluctuates due to fluctuation in belt thickness. <P>SOLUTION: The drive controlling apparatus includes; a belt mark 304 functioning as the reference position of the endless belt 60; a detecting means for detecting the belt mark 304; a means for detecting the detection angle displacement error of an encoder 301 arising due to the fluctuation in the thickness of the endless belt 60; a first means for calculating a phase at the belt mark 304 and the maximum amplitude based on the obtained detection angle displacement error of the encoder 301; a non-volatile memory for storing the calculation results; and a means for calculating the position of the belt based on the phase value stored in the non-volatile memory so that the detection angle displacement error of the encoder 301 may become the smallest. When instructions to stop the driving means are given, the endless belt is controlled to stop so that the position of the belt where the detection angle displacement error of the encoder becomes the smallest may be in the position of a roller which applies the highest tension on the endless belt among a plurality of rollers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
