<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized projection liquid crystal display device capable of displaying a projected image with no unevenness in intensity of light by using a plurality of point light source illumination units such as a light emitting diode to provide a structure that can emit uniform light. <P>SOLUTION: This light source device and the optical device are each provided with a light guide block (10) having inner walls (11) provided with light reflectivity and formed with a hollow inside so as to form a light guide, and a point light source array (20) arranged facing one end surface of the light guide block (10) so as to emit light to the light guide.
