<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device shortening a time required for updating output characteristics correcting data without degrading the obtained images. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device is equipped with: a storage means for storing various kinds of screen patterns used for reproducing halftones; output characteristic correction data set up corresponding to each of the screen patterns; and use history information as to the screen patterns. A control means is provided and equipped with a function of selecting, at least, a kind of screen pattern from the various kinds of the screen patterns on the basis of the use history information when the output characteristic correction data are updated. The control means is configured so as to be equipped with a function of selecting a screen pattern high in frequency of use, or selecting the screen pattern which is used in an immediately preceding job. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
