PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distributively store geographical information in a plurality of space regions (tiles) of prescribed magnitude and to prevent linear records and planar records across the boundaries of respective space regions from being cut and from being overlapped when taking out and recovering the geographical information in a geographical information processing system which distributively stores each of a plurality of the records in the plurality of the space regions of the prescribed magnitude. SOLUTION: The system comprises a filter means which functions; to store the linear records and planar records in a file corresponding to the one space region and to restore the same therefrom when the linear records and planar records of the geographical information are included in each space region; to copy the linear records and the planar records across the plurality of the space regions and to store the same in the plurality of the files corresponding to the plurality of the space region crossed by the linear codes and planar codes while making it possible to recognize the same when these records are not recovered nor included therein; and to send only the linear records and planar records which are not yet sent to the restoration process.
