PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontally laying external facing structure, its construction method and a horizontally laying external facing material, superior in negative pressure strength, by enhancing installation strength of a connecting part of the horizontally laying external facing material arranged on the downstream/upstream side, even if the horizontally laying external facing material is lifted when negative pressure acts. SOLUTION: In this horizontally laying external facing structure, the horizontally laying external facing structure is formed by laying the horizontally laying external facing material 1 having mutually engageable downstream side molding part 3 and upstream side molding part 4 on the downstream/upstream side of a face plate part 2 by using a holding member; and is characterized in that the horizontally laying external facing material 1 has an extension piece 42 on the downstream side of a holding object part held by the holding member 5 in the upstream side molding part 4, and has a pressing object piece 32 positioned on the reverse surface side of the extension piece 42 in a laying state in the downstream side molding part 3, and the holding member 5 has a negative pressure restraining piece 54 facing in a noncontact state on the extension piece 43 in a laying state and pressing down a pressing object piece 32 via the extension piece 43 when the negative pressure acts, on the downstream side of a holding part 51 holding the holding object part 42.
