PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To melt snow by reliably throwing lumps of snow which are piled up by a snow removal vehicle into a snow melting tank. SOLUTION: A lid body 12 comprising lid body units 17 etc. is provided on the upper part of the snow melting tank. A lid opening/closing mechanism is constituted of rail receptacles 21 etc.; traction rods 23 etc. slide-freely mounted into the rail receptacles 21 etc.; fixed shafts 33 etc. arranged between the traction rods 23 etc.; and movable rotating shafts 34 etc. Both ends of the fixed shafts 33 are fixed to fixed points. Both ends of the movable rotating shafts 34 etc. are fixed to the traction rods 23 etc. One-side ends of the lid body units 17 are connected to the fixed shafts 33, and other ends of the lid body units 17 are connected to the movable rotating shafts 34.
