PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support a lock case to both internal wall surface of a door even in a lock case mounting structure wherein the thickness direction center of the lock case does not coincide with the thickness direction center of the door. SOLUTION: This positioning mechanism for the lock case 11 for supporting both side faces of the lock case 11 built in with one end face fixed to a butt end of the hollow door, to abut on both facing internal wall surfaces of the door, is provided with a fixed plate 1 fixed to the lock case 11; an opening/closing support leg 3 supported in a swingable manner to the fixed plate 1 through a pin 19 so that open leg side tips 21b, 23b abut on both internal wall surfaces of the door; a pressing member 5 abutting on the base end seat faces of the opening/closing support leg 3; a holding member 7 for turnably supporting a swing shaft 45 of the pressing member 5 to hold the pressing member 5; an operating means 9 capable of pressing the pressing member 5 to the base end seat faces of a pair of legs through the holding member 7 held to the fixed plate 1; and abutting members 71, 73 provided at the opening/closing support leg 3 and turnably supported through shafts 81, 83 in the same direction as the pin 19 so that the open leg side outer surfaces abut on the internal wall surfaces of the door.
