PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residual air discharge device in a siphon pipe having less number of valves, simple mechanism, and lower manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This residual air discharge device comprises a cylinder device 3 having a variable cylinder space 2, a drive device 4 operating the cylinder device 3, a connection means 12 for communicating the cylinder space 2 with the siphon pipe 11, a liquid level sensor 16 detecting the upper limit level position of a liquid in the cylinder space 2, a liquid level sensor 17 detecting the lower limit level position of the liquid in the cylinder space 2, and an exhaust means 13 for communicating the cylinder space 2 with the outside air.
